Corey’s introduction into erosion and sediment control started back in 1993 when he was a student attending a forestry program and learning about logging practices and the effects on the land with a sudden removal of vegetation. From this point on in his education and his early career development, his interest in erosion and sediment control techniques and practices has inspired his career path. Through his development, he has been a vendor, providing erosion and sediment control products (ESCP), as well as a contractor installing and maintaining ESCP and finally, he was also a consultant providing design support, document reviews, and inspections on ESCP.
Corey’s education consists of a degree from the University of Alberta receiving his BSc in Environmental and Conservation Science in 1999; as well as a diploma as a Forest Technician from the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology in 1994. Currently, Corey is a professional member with the Alberta Institute of Agrologists (PAg, 2844) and a member of EnviroCert International Inc. holding both a Certified Professional in Erosion and Sediment Control (CPESC, 5275) and a Certified Erosion, Sediment & Storm Water Inspector (CESSWI, 11995) certifications.
